This exhibit consists of a circular table with a printed top, a bright spotlight, and flexible plastic mirrors.
- Participants can begin by experimenting with creating interesting reflections using the mirror. They can see that certain parts of the reflection are particularly bright, the caustic curves.
- There are blue curves drawn on the table. If the participant bends the mirror to match these curves, particularly attractive caustic curves are generated.
- There is also a grey caustic curve without a blue curve. The challenge for the visitor is to determine how to bend the mirror to create the caustic curve.
